John Higgins & Thayne Bradford

Focal Point

Focal Point is proud to present John Higgins and Thayne Bradford. Longtime favorites and veterans of the St. Louis acoustic music scene, John and Thayne will be bringing their unique sound to Focal Point for an evening of duet performances drawn from their years of experience in locally-based and nationally known bluegrass, country, and Americana bands.

John Higgins has been playing music professionally for 50 years. Most of those efforts have involved what is commonly referred to today as “Americana”, and have led to meeting many musicians and listeners alike-it’s been a great musical adventure, covering twenty states playing in a number of bands. As of late, most of his efforts have been focused on playing the pedal steel guitar, and his original love, the acoustic guitar. The COVID times led to a lot of duo playing with musician extraordinaire Thayne Bradford on mandolin and vocal, and the two of them continue to mine new materials to make their own. Thayne Bradford has been playing music in the Saint Louis area since the early 70s and is steeped in the tradition of American roots music. He has played with groups such as The Road Apples, The Lonesome Pines, and The Bluegrass Alliance. John, and Thayne have been friends for close to 50 years and have performed together in many other groups. Most recently, they have enjoyed playing together as a duo.
